It’s been a long time coming for us and web updates. We have all been busy wrenching, and preparing for the launch of the new website.

Here is a link to our Facebook photo album with a ton of photos taken from the Vashon ride, and below is a video taken by KBMC Member, Jason Rafanan on his CB175.

The Knuckle Busters Motorcycle Club presents the 1st Annual ‘Ride to the Ridge’. We will be meeting at the Coleman dock in time for the 8:45 ferry. Be sure to get there early to allow enough time to purchase tickets and to not miss the boat as nice days fill up quick.

The first pit stop will be in Port Townsend for fuel and beverages. We will then summit Hurricane Ridge, mingle for photo ops, then ride back to Port Angeles for lunch.

We will make our way back to Seattle shortly after lunch, with an estimated return time of 5pm.

This ride is open to all vintage enthusiasts. RSVP via Facebook, or Contact Us through our website.

Ride to the Ridge. Hope to see you all there.

2010 Tiddler Tour

June 21st, 2010 | Rides | Knuckle Busters | No Comments

This year’s Tiddler Tour was a success – Aside from the crazy weather (thanks a lot Steve Pool).

Everyone rallied at Chris’s house at 7:30am in order to make it down to the Vashon Ferry. It was KBMC members Chris, Jeff, Paul, Tim, Ray and Jason, with honorary KB guests Michelle and Jim. Departure to Vashon Island was at 830am sharp, and we were right on time. A handful of riders made the 830 ferry, so we all just decided to mingle with the State Patrol while the Ferry docked. Man those troopers are nice guys.

Once we landed on Vashon, we made a 10 minute trek up the island, and into downtown where we met a lot of riders from the earlier Bremerton Ferry. When everyone was together, there were about 100 of us ready to ride. We were all given a map of the Island with directions to the stops. This was also a great time for Chris and the crew to give everyone Tiddler back patches and buttons that we made.

The first stop was Lisabuela Park. Amazing scenery.

After leaving Lisabuela Park, we made a short trip to a convenience store to refuel. Riders got coffee, cigarettes and some snacks before making our way to the next stop: Manzanita Beach. It was a fairly narrow, private road with lots of ups and downs, so some of the smaller CC bikes had some trouble getting to it. In the end, everyone made it safely.

The third stop was at the Point Robinson Lighthouse. We didn’t get any pictures here because the rain really started to come down. After a run to the bathroom, the KB’s decided to head to the Ferry while the rest of the riders went to the VME barbeque, which was the last stop of the run. It was about 2:30pm and we were soaking wet. Jeff’s bike was burning quite a bit of oil, but managed to make it in time to catch the 3pm ferry back to West Seattle.

All in all, it was a successful ride considering the conditions. No major wipeouts, everyone rode responsibly and we all had a ton of fun. Big thanks to the Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts for putting on the ride. For more photos, check out the gallery, or the Knuckle Busters Facebook Page.

Happy Father’s Day! See you all next year…

Backfire Motorcycle Night 18

June 17th, 2010 | Events | Knuckle Busters | No Comments

Today was an iffy day, with clouds threatening to rain on the Backfire parade. It was around 6pm, and the sun decided to come out and play, and so did Seattle.

It was KBMC members Jason and Ray, with prospect John close in tow. We showed up, grabbed some beers & hot dogs and mingled with the crowd. There were some great looking bikes, and a lot of new builds hit the streets after being worked on over the winter.

VME Presents: 2010 Tiddler Tour

June 16th, 2010 | Rides | Knuckle Busters | No Comments

It’s that time of the year again. Every Father’s day, many vintage motorcycle enthusiasts meet at the Vashon Ferry Terminal in West Seattle for the annual Tiddler Tour. Lots of small cc bikes (350cc & under) will be migrating over to Vashon Island for an all-day takeover.

KBMC has been in attendance for the past few years. We must say, it’s one of most fun rides we’ve been on.

Tiddler Details:

Father’s Day – Sunday. June 20, 2010
Time: 8am-5pm
Vashon Island, WA

Meet at the Vashon Island Ferry Terminal at 8am for departure. Route plans and maps will be handed out once everyone gets to Vashon Island. Hope to see you all there!

Bonehead Enduro

The Knuckle Busters represented at this year’s Bonehead Enduro. People were loosing tires, we got stuck in some places and were soaking wet by the end of the day. All in all, what a fun ride.

Jason’s CB175 Racer

February 27th, 2010 | Builds | Knuckle Busters | No Comments

Here’s a picture of Jason’s 175 during the build. Since then, he has installed a Bore Tech ignition and wrapped the tail pipes.

Originally purchased as a rust-bucket, barely running 175 for $400, it was evident that this build would take a lot of time, patience and cash flow. It started with a complete tear down. Every nut and bolt was turned. The frame, engine and other small parts were sanded and painted. Even the rear fender was removed to lighten the load. Custom rearsets from Motobits, fiberglass seat from Glass From the Past, new rubbers, custom pipes, electronic ignition, clubman handlebars… The list goes on and on.

For the complete details, check out the build process and photos on the Do The Ton Forums.

Jeff’s 650 Chopper

This is still a work in progress, but I’ve got most of the build completed. All that’s left to do is find a rear hub to address the chain alignment issue. Then it’s off to powdercoat, chrome, etc.
